Grampian Eye 2021
Here is the text of an email received from Susan Beardwell, General Secretary of the Donside Camera Club who are hosting GE2021
Just to confirm that, covid-permitting, we at Donside Camera Club are looking forward to hosting the competition at Alford Community Campus on Saturday, April 23rd 2022 where the judge will be Andy Hall.
As the host Club, we have the honour of naming the categories within the Open competition and are pleased to announce them here along with the traditional Awards.
The Grampian Eye Trophy - to the club with the highest aggregate score
The Grampian Eye Quaich Trophy - to the runner-up club
The Grampian Eye Granite Trophy - to the photographer of the best image overall along with a SPF Silver Medal
The Wee Cup - to the photographer of the runner-up image along with a SPF Bronze Medal
The following will all receive a SPF Bronze Medal
Best Landscape
Best Monochrome
Best Nature (please be aware of the SPF/FIAP rules on Nature photography)
Best Portrait
Best Creative (SPF/FIAP rules apply)
In a break with tradition, Donside Camera Club would like to waive the honour of awarding the GE Cup, traditionally awarded by the Event Chair Person to their favourite image.
Instead, we intend to offer a new category this year to be judged by the competition Judge; the title of this category will be “The Essence of Grampian” to emphasise and reflect the location of the competition. This can be interpreted in any genre.
The winning photographer in The Essence of Grampian category will receive the GE Cup along with a SPF Bronze Medal.
